I wasn't joking yesterday when I said I think that on the afternoon of New Years Day I'm much more likely going to be watching BYU playing Santa Clara in basketball on BYUTV than I will be watching the CFB playoff game. I know I'm not typical, but I really love watching BYU basketball. I like BYU football, but the BCS followed by the P5 takeover of the sport has really turned me off. The post season in college football was awesome when I was a kid, but the changes the last 20 years has really hurt it, IMO. Who cares about ACC#5 vs. Big 10 #7 or Pac 10 #4 vs. Big 12 #6. It has handcuffed the bowls into taking bad matchups over and over again and turned the bowl season from something where hardcore fans would watch every game into something where the interested audience is only the fans of the teams playing in the game.
