The payout to Savannah St. was likely similar.
Big Ten teams paid about $800 to $1 million to get G5 opponents for payday games in 2014.
I understand that a decent opponent cancelled and left TH in a bind. But, in future seasons, wouldn't BYU do better to pay the higher premium and get a C-USA, AAC, or MWC opponent into LES for a one-and-done - or even Idaho, NMSU, or Texas St?
In fact, paying SJSU or Tulane or Rice would give us decent home games, but still allow TH the flexibility to do some 2-1 arrangements to get more teams like USC, Texas, and Wisconsin on the home schedule as well. Overall, the home schedules would improve.
