It's a lot easier to search and queue up videos on a tablet or phone, and then they just play on the TV. My phone also supports casting the screen directly to the TV, so we use it for reading scriptures as a family.

It supports other apps as well, but we mostly use our Roku for streaming TV shows and movies.
