There is more to being a good OC though
. Many will point to the Defense as the issue, however, let's also look at the ultimate outcomes of games. We only beat one team with a winning record. Houston. why did we lose to the teams we lost too? Our losses came to teams that we scored on, yet could not maintain leads in some cases. Many of the teams we lost too had pathetic offenses. So somehow playing teams with good defenses meant we would lose...regardless of their offensive production. Many had bad offenses. The teams we beat in some cases had good offenses, but as far as I can see, none had a good Defense. We played three teams with top Fifty offenses, Nevada, BSU, and CAL.. We played Texas, BSU, Memphis,Virginia , USU,UCF were the only top fifty Defenses we faced, FWIW BYU came in at FIFTY ONE. Our losses this year USU BSU UCF NEV Memphis The only thing that I see is that we lost to 4 of the six best defenses BYU played this year.. Nevada 's loss being the outlier. However Nevada WAS one of the Three best offenses we played along with BSU and Cal. Two of the wins vs those good Defenses came with Taysom at the helm making plays. The UVA game was closer than it needed to be. So did our coaching staff allow normally bad offenses with good defense beat us? Or did our offense not do what it needed to against good defenses? It would appear that our D allowed other teams that had good defenses to score more than normal..Which is weird isn't it? Our D did fine when we played teams with crappy defenses regardless of their offenses..like Cal..... Lets look at each team S&P then FEI ratings given fore each Offense and defense UCONN 70/ninety sixth Defense
