There are things about the HC that are silly, but beards aren't one of them. Service academies and many places of business have dress and grooming standards that include being clean shaven. The issue comes when not having a beard is somehow connected to worthiness or doctrine. I'm fine with the beard ban, especially with the recent clarification on the religious exception.
