miserable. At first is was my quad, then both quads, then one calf muscle, then the other, by the time I finished both hamstrings were seizing up. I got through it by getting rubbed down with tons of icy hot. I also just refused to stop unless I was getting rubbed down. I also found myself running differently than I have ever ran which used different leg muscles once crap hit the fan. I would just run and once a muscle started to seize up I would walk until it quit hurting then go again. Days after the marathon I had huge bruises on my quads and calf muscles from the beat down those angel volunteers gave me.
