Sometimes I feel like our fanbase needs a reverse Coach Norman Dale to
take us to all the WCC arenas and measure the height of the rims and the dimensions of the courts to show us us they are the same size as they are in the PIT. Is it fun to watch games on the road with 15,000+ rabid, BYU hating fans? Sure. But basketball is basketball.

Furthermore, while we all have fond memories of the MWC in Jimmer's senior year, the MWC hasn't been that good since. And it is particularly less exciting this year. If we had stayed in the MWC, we'd get road trips to the following places:

1. Laramie, Wyoming. I'm sure the team still misses the lovely weather of a Laramie winter. We'd have had the chance to play in an arena that is larger than the WCC arenas, but I remember it being half full and lifeless the last decade we were in the MWC.

2. Logan - Again, such lovely weather. Oh, wait. We did play in Logan. And their arena was dead this year.

3. New Mexico - I'm sure the New Mexicans could still spew it with the best of them, but their team is way down.

4. San Diego State - We played them, but not in San Diego. They've dealt with injuries and aren't nearly as formidable as when we played them in Hawaii.

5. Air Force - WCC sized gym and boring basketball.

6. Colorado State - Bigger gym than WCC, but other than Kevin Nixon hitting that 3/4 court shot to win the WAC Tournament way back when, I challenge you to remember a fond memory from Fort Collins.

7. Fresno State - See Colorado State, minus Nixon's shot.

8. UNR - Yawn.

9. UNLV - Fun arena. Fun opponent. We almost never won there. And most of the fans belly-aching about WCC gym size hated playing the conference tournament in Las Vegas with UNLV being in the tournament.

10. Hawaii - See Laramie, except way better weather (which we don't lack in the WCC).

11. San Jose State - Anyone upset we aren't playing at San Jose State every year? Didn't think so.
