I've only been on two cruises. Both were Western Caribbean trips.

I enjoyed the Royal Caribbean cruise line significantly more than Carnival. Both were large ships.

We like Norwegian. But as long as you stay away from carnival you'll be fine.

If you don't want to leave from Florida you can do a Caribbean cruise f/ Houston
