Great: Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone
Bad: Showing the origin again, including Uncle Ben's demise; the whole Richard Parker conspiracy thing
Good: Lizard as a villain
Bad: How the lizard looked; his lame, Bond villain-esque plot
Great: Captain Stacy makes Peter promise to leave Gwen alone and the resultant conflicts/drama there
Bad: The uneven handling of said plot point
Good: Electro as a villain
Bad: Shoehorning him in with Harry rather than fleshing him out as a character; terrible dialogue; sudden shift of feeling about Spider-Man; inconsistent attention to the laws of physics (even comic book laws of physics - how can he float/fly sometimes and yet be punched and held to the earth by gravity other times?)
Good: Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborne
Bad: Coming up with a really lame reason for him to turn on Peter and Spider-Man; shoehorning him in with Electro
Good: Chris Cooper as Norman Osborne
Bad: Killing Chris Cooper before he gets to do anything as Norman Osborne
Good: Killing Gwen Stacy
Bad: Making it an afterthought in a completely logjammed movie
On the whole, I enjoyed both movies, but I don't feel good about it because of their glaring flaws. Kurtzman and Orci are idiots, and I hope they never get that much control over a blockbuster, beloved franchise again.
