I have a short barreled 870 in a similar configuration to the one you posted, and the 870 is tough as nails. Also, all the parts are built quite beefy, with more milled parts vs cast parts that are found in cheaper guns. It's well worth an extra $150 to $200 for an 870 if you can swing that budget wise.
It depends on what you will use the shotgun for too. The pistol gripped guns are great for home defense/CQB applications, they make it easier to combat reload from a side saddle and handle quite well. That said, anything with an 18.5" barrel or shorter is not the greatest for shooting clays. It can be done, but trap shooting is much easier with a longer barrel and adjustable choke.
I'd suggest hunting around for a well priced Remington 870 tactical if that is the style you are looking for. Great guns - Plenty of mods too, including pistol grips, AR style adjustable stocks, side saddle, etc.
