I think I have come to a point where I enjoy BYU basketball more than BYU
Football. Football is still my favorite sport and the one I played in college, but I just don't enjoy the nature of college football as much as college basketball.

If BYU loses a game in college football, there chance for a championship is over. It can still be a very good year and I will cheer for them like crazy, but the "dream" season is over. It is a little funny as you look at a team like the Patriots who had a couple of really bad games early, yet they won the Superbowl. BYU also has trouble scheduling and facing a big conference bias.

In basketball you build all season to the tournament. Then you have a shot to prove how good you are. Yes BYU often gets underseeded. Still, BYU controls there own destiny and is able to go as far as they can go. We have never proven to be one of the best 4 teams in the country and that is OK. Once the tournament starts, everyone is on an equal playing field. Even the numbers that are used to get into the tournament are unbiased as they are statistical numbers based on actual games. Yes you get an occasional flaw when the tournament committee says a big program passed the eye test when they have been blown out multiple times this season, but overall you get a chance to compete.

Anyway, I never thought I would come to this conclusion as I love so much about football. Still, the setup of both sports has led me to enjoy basketball more.
