front of buildings (because the car can go wait elsewhere till you are ready for it), shipping costs will be reduced dramatically as we won't have to pay drivers to sit in the rig, the costs of owning a car will plummet because you won't need to own 3 for a family, since the car could return home after taking Mom or Dad to work (or you could even co-own a car with others because you don't need one all day long and it can go off and shuttle others around). It would mean never circling for a parking spot again. It would mean long car trips would be much easier and you could completely change the layout of a family vehicle to make it much nicer.
It will be the biggest pollution reducer we could possibly imagine. I imagine long trains of vehicles on highways, cruising at high speeds with little drag. Or getting rid of stop lights and a lot of current congestion by having the cars simply time intersection crossings with other conflicting vehicles.
Frankly, I think it will revolutionize the world in ways we don't even understand yet.
