that is what the team needed. In a lot of ways I think they would've had more team success if Sloan had required. And when the playoffs hit, defensive intensity and familiarity went up, Sloan would still run the same screen/roll for the last 5 minutes of every game.
If Sloan had embraced the 3 more and allowed for more varied offensive strategies, Stockton's scoring ability would've been highlighted a lot more and the team would've had more success from '88-'95.
