BYU has a very strong culture and Bronco has taken a lot of measures to instill BYU as a special place with Tradition, Spirit, Honor, accountability, discipline, etc. How players respond and buy into culture is definitely part of the story.
With Bronco in charge of the defense, of course some elements will be emphasized again in the same way that Bronco did when he was DC. Some of this isn't culture, it's simply how the DC does his job. Be grateful instead of whining about the fact that Bronco is re instilling some of the same things he emphasized as a DC. This isn't changing the culture as much as Bronco's own style as a DC in contrast to Howell.
There's way too much assumption and hand wringing over comments from players and intern journalists covering sessions of spring practice.
