I wanted to just cross the border just to say I had been to another country. There was a dam that straddled both countries and if I remember right you could walk across it without a visa/passport as long as you stayed in the dam. We chickened out and didn't do it. Happy ending: I ended up visiting Uruguay later in life anyway
