1- It is a much more exciting way to live my life. After so many seasons of expecting the worse and then STILL being mad about when we underachieved or something, I realized that I am miserable on both ends of the event. I do not want that.
2- I take football much less seriously than I once did. It is a great game and I love it so dang much-- but a few years ago I was realizing that a defeat devastated me. A bunch of very young men playing a game with an odd shaped ball determined how I spoke to my kids or what emotions I had. That's on me, not football.
3- I like the direction of a few things with this team. I know that strength and conditioning are not everything - but it is different this year it seems and I hope it begins to pay off. I think our offense has the potential to have some very special times this year. Some great skill players and Taysom is a rare beast. I will let the coaches worry about backups and preparedness, nobody has control over injuries, so why live in fear of them.
4- With all of his frustrating shortcomings, at least Bronco is coming back to where we all love to see him-- running the defense. He has always gotten more out of no-names than anyone we have ever had, and he has done it everywhere he goes. He might not be able to always pick a good assistant coach, but he has been able to at least improve defenses every time he gets close. We were not that far off of some wins in that 4 game streak that could have used a play here or there to change everything.
5- I am a Cougar fan. Despite only one perfect season ever and some recent mediocrity-- this is my team. I don't have an alternate team that I am passionate about.

So- here in the late July of the off season- enjoy the chance to be upbeat about being a Cougar fan!
