Many reputable, and some disreputable news sources have claimed that the conference will expand. It's not if, but when. This round of chatter started with powerful people inside the actual conference. Many other powerful people in the conference have added their opinion that expansion would be a positive thing.
An expansion committee has been formed.
It has been confirmed that revenue share will not decrease incrementally with the adding of new schools, but will expand as the media foot print expands.
One ESPN person has gone on record to say the conference will not expand west - sorry BYU. Nobody else of consequence has confirmed this.
In every publication I have read about expansion, BYU is listed at the top or near the top of the leaders for schools to include.
