Today I heard about a lady from Idaho who is also getting attention (in addition to the dentist) I'm not a hunter. It's just not my thing. I'm very against things like "live pigeon shoots" as well (because it isn't sporting, it is killing because someone likes to kill). That being said,
1. As someone with a deep connection to some 3rd world countries worrying about a dead animal is very much a "1st world" problem. I guarantee you the vast majority of Zimbabweans had no clue who "Cecil" was.
2. Hunters actually benefit these countries, due to the high fees they pay to hunt.
3. It would be one thing if it was completely under handed (if lion hunting were illegal), but it wasn't. People are mad about where the lion was BEFORE the hunt.
4. The woman from Idaho appeared to follow the rules, and people are still freaking out.
I just don't understand why all of a sudden big game hunters are being attacked, it's almost as if the crime is taking the picture.
