Wrubell is great and BYU should use his talents...
I think BYU is fortunate to have a talent like Greg Wrubell. In the constant local marketing battle, BYU seems to be falling behind. They do have ESPN which does great during the season in getting the games on TV but during the off season and during the week when fanatical fans are listening to radio sports shows, BYU basically has no presence. In Utah, the Utes are covered on ESPN 700, and in all due respect Criddle and his cast are trying to keep pace on ESPN 960 but that show is nowhere near the level of quality of a, high level talk radio show. I try to listen to them but honestly it is more like a couple of college buddies talking about dating and movies and an occasional sports topic. It can be painful at times. BYU should utilize the talents of Wrubell on a much wider level. They should give him the ESPN 960 radio time slot during the evening commute, they should give him priority access to all sports at BYU (since he is one of their great marketing tools), and they should give him the time to do these things, i.e., let him focus on football and basketball, which by itself is taxing. BYU needs much more of a high quality presence on local sports radio. They need to provide an alternative to the constant Pac-12, Utah, talk radio that is on during the week. They have the talent and resources to do it and should allow Wrubell the time and access to do so. He would do BYU a huge favor in increasing their brand awareness in their local market.
