It's a tradition we started a few years ago. They seem to like our recipe (we've refined it well over the years) and my kids get to know them well, it's been great. In fact, I have a pizza apron signed by the elders that come to 5 or more pizza nights.
We just got a new elder who is coming for the first time tomorrow and as usual we ask if he has any food allergies (after explaining our tradition). He said gluten. Obviously this messes with our tradition, but we are willing to adapt since its not something he can control. My wife has been trying hard to find a good solution. Well, my wife just found out from another member that it isn't an allergy it's just something he is "trying out" (he said this to the other family himself).
So I told her we should make our regular pizza as usual and then have some small gluten free option (some rice and chicken or something) for him while we enjoy delicious pizza. I don't feel bad enjoying in front of him if it's just a choice that he is trying out.
Am I being a jerk?
