Let me try to be more clear: If they knew what they had, he'd have been offered a schollie. You don't "graciously" offer walkon status, ie non-scholarship status to a guy you think will become the all time leading TE and go on to win a Super Bowl ring at the position.

They let a guy walk on. Wow, that's just awesome. What an amazing eye for talent and what he would become.
