1. First and foremost incredible job by the players and coaches. We were playing on the road against the #10 team as a 17 point underdog and we had every chance to win the game. Oh, did I mention that our 1st and 2nd string RB's are hurt? Our QB is a freshman starting his second game after our stud Senior went down? How about one of our best defenders in Tuiloma being out? Just an incredible job by all involved. We didn't have the more talented team, but man did we play well.

2. Tanner Mangum played his best game so far this year. The guy is going to be an all-timer at BYU. I love his talent, makeup and leadership.

3. What a game plan by Mendenhall and Anae!!! I am still in awe. While I was disappointed to see Carter and Henderson out there in the end, that is what happens when you lose all of your guys that should be playing to injury. Anae running on 3rd and long seemed dumb to me, but I also thought it was dumb when he ran at Nebraska and again against Boise St and it worked both times. Anae spreading them out with 5 WR when they were getting pressure was a stroke of genius. Mendenhall made their freshman QB look like a high school freshman. The guy was confused and frustrated the entire game. Am I the only one that thinks he looks a little like Jake Heaps (physically speaking)?

4. We lost the game imo because we couldn't adjust to the 3 WRs on one side and 1 WR on the other. Ideally you play a lot of man in open space to the wide side in this situation but Hanneman simply isn't good enough yet (he got turned around twice on the TD play.... as a corner you should never ever get turned around, yet alone twice.... he even had inside safety help on that play). After Hanneman got beat we played pass D and they gauged us up the middle. Poor tackling didn't help.

5. I think Saturday at UCLA was the best game I have seen us play this year. If we play that well the rest of the way we will finish 11-1. It is a travesty that we lost, but I salute the players and coaches for the play they were able to turn in.
