There exists all of these rumors that the Big 12 is the red headed step child of P5 conferences and all these rumors of a mass exodus...
I don't really understand why? Sure, they were left out of the playoff last year, which many believe was a nudge to add a conference championship game. It's the first year, and someone will get left out every year...
As for strong teams, the Big XII is as strong as any other conference this year if not stronger with two teams in the top 5.. Oklahoma is always strong with OSU, TT, Kansas St and Texas are historically strong and should be better in the future...
So why does everyone want to jump ship? I could see the non Texas schools wanting to leave because of the BigXIIs catering to them with the longhorn network, but why leave with Texas and join another conference? Especially the ACC?
Maybe some teams leave and Texas goes Indy, but I don't see the reason for all of them to go join another conference and lose negotiation power in a bigger conference. They have a great TV deal as well, so why break it up?
