But they showed marked improvement in the Fresno and Oregon games. Before the backups came in, they had held the starting QBs to less than 200 yards through three quarters and change, and I believe Oregon finished with <200 passing yards total. I know neither of those teams has great passing offenses this year, but what stood out most to me in the last two games as opposed to the first two is that Utah's starters were not allowing opposing receivers to get open deep, which is something that happened on several occasions vs Michigan and USU. To me that's especially impressive against Oregon, because even though their QB situation isn't good right now, they still have a very good WR corps. I think that bodes well for the matchup with Cal.
