Were you diagnosed with otitis externa or otitis media?
If you have pain with just pressing on the ear, sounds more like otitis externa (outer ear infection). This is treated by cleaning the ear, ear drops (combo of acidic, steroids, and antibiotic drops), and if severe, oral antibiotics. If your external ear infection was bad enough to warrant oral antibiotics, amoxicillin was not the ideal choice, as you would need coverage for pseudamonas, a common bacteria that causes otitis externa. Shoulda been given oflaxacin or ciprofloxacin.

If it is otitis media (infection inside the ear), then amoxicillin should be fine and things should run their course and just give it more time.

Hard to say, though, without seeing the ear or knowing the diagnosis.
