they use a different protocol to do the wireless printing. Their ePrint protocol is pretty solid and don't seem to rely as much on Google's Cloudprint. You can even configure them to have their own unique email address and then anything you email to that address (as an attachment I believe) will get printed. The problem I've seen with my Brother laser is that it somehow becomes disconnected randomly from the Google Cloudprint service and you have to re-register it. Not a big deal for me since it takes all of a minute to do that, but a show-stopper for my mother in law...which is why we got her an HP.
