You can report the income on your schedule C without the 1099-Misc. In fact, I
believe in this circumstance, no 1099 is required because your wife isn't a professional or business, she is a self-employed provider.
So she definitely should report the income (and pay the self employment taxes on it), but no 1099 is required.
