I mean, I'd rather pound toothpicks under my fingernails with a ball peen hammer than listen to current country music, but I love groups like the Civil Wars and Punch Brothers which to most people would be classified as country.
Perhaps they are more true to original "country" music whereas modern country music is basically twang-pop?
