Because they're not even 3rd in their own big city market. I live in Houston
area and I'm telling you, the popularity for college football in these parts goes:
1) Texas A&M
2) Texas (very close second)
3) LSU
4) Houston (distant 4th)
This is just college teams, but if you consider how much pro sports take over here in Houston, that 4th place is a REEEEAALLY small presence. Houston is like a very large community college...a commuter school with a run down campus.
