As a Pittsburgh guy, im sure you recognize he's not Rothlesberger
When I look at the bulk he's acquired and the style in which he is trying to play, I get the impression that this is who Taysom some is trying to be. A big dude with a rocket arm who is tough to drag down and mobile enough to extend pass plays or run off the occasional scramble for positive yardage.

For me, Taysom's best, or at least most encouraging play of the night was on the first touchdown drive when he scrambled out of the pocket, took off straight up field for a nice gain, and slid.

I don't blame him one bit for caring about his health and ability to keep playing after three season-ending injuries.

I do blame us if we are going to stake our season on trying to turn him into something he has never shown he is capable of being.

Move Taysom around. Don't telegraph exactly where he's going to throw from so much. And when the first couple pass options aren't there, Run Taysom Run.

Taysom's highlight reel largely consists on tuck and runs off of pass plays. He's abandoned this aspect in an attempt to be a pocket passer. Thus far, it's crashed and burned. Yes, burned. Badly.

Taysom needs to be the freewheeling spontaneous and dangerous dual-threat guy we have seen for our offense to have any hope with him leading the charge. If it is a pure pocket passer that we will insist upon, well, we have one of those.
