Independence is "sustainable".
I know this idea and quote came from Bronco that "independence is not sustainable". I think we all understand the point of what BM was saying, but the words he used are not accurate.

"Sustainable". Yes, Independence is sustainable. We have proven that over the years thus far in Indy. We can continue to maintain what we have and probably increase our overall financial situation from ESPN. Our program is profitable and everyone that does business with BYU ends up making money, and much more money than they would with nearly half of the P5 schools out there.

Now, what I think BM meant and we are all thinking is that Independence isn't a good long term plan. And for the most part I think this is accurate. I do believe that Tom will attempt at renegotiating a few things: 1) Money, 2) Bowl Game Tier system, 3) Better access to NY6/CFB Playoff, and 4) (Hopefully) Some kind of scheduling agreement with a, or multiple, P5 conferences.

If these things can be done to a degree of success, I think Independence can continue to sustain us and probably give us another step forward. Is it P5 level and can we keep up with P5 in Indy...nope.

But again, I do believe that Indy is sustainable based on the definition of the word.

Keep your chins up Cougar fans. We have the right leadership in place to ensure we are in a good place!
