Just took a quick look on Pomeroy and counted BYU as 60-10 in February in the Rose era, excluding one off-year in 2013. Pretty amazing.
Every team improves over the season. Some improve at a more rapid rate, which is what we expect from BYU.
BYU tends to improve more rapidly pretty much every year, in part due to reconditioning of RMs and bigger roster turnover. This may explain why the Cougars have had such a remarkable record in February almost every year.
If the 8 top rotation players plus Kaufusi are healthy in February, this team will be very, very strong.
I agree that there is no issues at all with inexperience or youth. Coaches like to use that spiel about their teams. Opposing coaches always say the opposite.
Relative to all the teams since 2011, this is the smartest and toughest group of guys we have had here.
