You can't say Collie's game translated better to the NFL because he was bigger and faster, then lament that he was shut down by TCU (a more-NFL like defense than anything Drage ever saw). Collie still had good games against TCU.
Drage excelled for his ability, size and athleticism in large part because of who was throwing to him and who he was playing against - secondaries who were often worse than the one he practiced against. And that is more of an indictment on the rest of the WAC than his own team. But he wasn't near the player Collie was.
