Actually my neighbor's son, but the son lives nearby and I talk to him regularly.

He was recruited just before Bennett was hired, but played 3 years under him. He absolutely LOVES Bennett and can't say enough good things about him. He has had a few other former SMC players visit and they all speak highly of Bennett.

I briefly met Bennett one year when SMC played in UofA in Tucson. The family bused back to the Phoenix airport, but before they caught their flight they stopped at my neighbors and ate a home cooked meal. I was very impressed by the team as a whole -- everyone was very gracious and friendly. And I was wearing a BYU shirt at the time. Bennett talked to me for about 5 minutes before going in the house.

So maybe the perception from within is different than what we have from the outside looking in.
