I couldn't agree more. I spent a bunch of time
In Detroit last year for work. I really enjoyed my time there and I think if I we had to, my family would enjoy living in the Detroit suburbs.

As mentioned elsewhere, the river shore downtown is quite nice. I always felt very safe downtown and there were some amazing places to eat. The stadiums downtown are all relatively new and nice. The Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village would take two full days to see it all. The orchards in the fall were delightful. The airport is one of the best in the U.S. I had a long list of places to see and things to do that I never got to. The suburbs were quite nice and pleasant.

Cleveland... I've spent some time there for work too... and I have no desire to ever go back. Cleveland is a terrible town with no redeeming qualities.
