My general rule for medical stuff: if it's chronic + current therapy isn't help
helping, then something different needs to be tried. Get a few more tests, see a specialist, try a different therapy, etc. I have an uncle that refused to see a pulmonologist after 4 pneumonias in 2 years as an otherwise healthy middle-aged guy, and he never got better until he failed antibiotic therapy the 5th time. The pulmonologist helped him after getting a bronchoscopy and washing out some severe mucus plugging and getting him on daily therapy. Anyway, just my 2 cents.
