Pain so bad it hurts to walk is concerning. If it is a blood clot - superficial veins you can feel are usually not a big deal, but if it is in the deep veins, it can be life threatening. I'd start with a leg ultrasound - it will show a blood clot, and if it is not associated with a vein, will give some clue as to what else is causing the bump
