But I've been dealing with it for a long time. Lately it's been popping and grinding. Because it seemed like a joint issue, I thought I'd check out a chiropractor first. I'm open to it, but skeptical. What the heck? I'll try it.
Having zero experience with chiropractors, I just picked one from my insurance company that was close.
The office was nestled between a liquor store and a tattoo parlor. As I walked in I was greeted by two very old dogs and the smell of said animals.
There were 10 or so boxes of kids cereal on the front desk like Cap'n Crunch. There was a big Buddha statue in the waiting room and repetitive gong strikes on a loop played throughout the office. It got waaaay annoying.
The "Dr " was walking a patient out and discussed his upcoming trip to Dubai and Sri Lanka to speak on "Buddhist economics" whatever that means.
Anyway, he put an electronic stimulation thing and a heating pad on my shoulder for a long time, did some adjustments, gave me a couple stretches to do, and a suggestion to get some salonpas pads.
He of course set up a follow up appointment for this week. I don't feel much different, but I'll be a good patient and do the stretching and pads. I'll see if I want to go back or not.
