Happiness does correlate to health (somewhat). And to family stability. And to lots of other things. But it doesn't really correlate to wealth or accumulation of stuff.
So, 100 years ago - how healthy were people? were families stable (divorce was certainly lower, and unwed parents, but there were probably a lot of other types of instability with jobs and housing, not to mention dads who might have just be absent all the time)?
IDK. Maybe people were super happy 100 years ago.
