Some will have benefit to this - like me
I work from home. I spend a lot of time on the phone. For a long time I used speaker phone on my cell phone without a problem. Then either an OS update, a phone drop or a dirty mic port and now using speaker is pretty garbled for me.

So I either buy a new cell phone (not in the immediate cards) or wear head phones/ear buds. I've been wearing ear buds but they are difficult for me to use as they have been significantly irritating my cauliflower ears.

The mic and speaker quality on our Echo and Tap are so good that I'd love to use them as a speaker phone to not be tethered to my ear via phone or ear buds. Preferably the Tap as it is also wireless and so if I need to wander to another room it would be easy to take with me.

Hopefully the ability to do VOIP calls to any number becomes an update to the hardware we already own and I can start using it. Especially since my company has been hinting at eliminating company paid phones and I may have to go to a BYOD setup and pay for the plan minutes myself. If that happened I probably wouldn't go to Ting like the rest of my family I'd probably go with some unlimited minutes plan (which many are now days) for the device I use for work.
