sometimes a kid just doesn't have the size to interest the big boys. Take Tejan. The kid's high school resume is as impressive as they come: 2 time all state for Allen HS in Texas, his team won the Texas 5A title in 2012 and 2013 and was ranked #2 in the country. Kid was legit...and if he were 6'3" he'd be starting for Alabama or A&M (the two schools he wanted to play for).
However, he is barely 6'0" and was told time and again, given his relatively short stature, the big boys didn't think he could put on the weight to be a serious D1 center and so he was set to sign with Arkansas State before someone alerted BYU to him.
I get it, for every Tejan or Cody Hoffman who was unheralded by the big boys yet panned out anyway, there are 10 guys who did not. But at BYU, you have to take chances. Sounds like Oglesby is in the vein of Tejan, talented yet considered too small. I hope he pans out.
