(1) we don't believe in the "trinity" or following other teachings of the nicene creed, (2) we believe that works are necessary to tap into the grace (instead of simply believing grace is sufficient for everyone no matter what their actions may be). But I've never lived closer to the south than Kentucky. So maybe you refer to how the south views Christianity.
