we were beaten by Rose rejects, as well . . . at home . . . giving up a whopping 114 points, refusing to defend the three even after giving up nine of them in the first half. Just a pathetic defensive effort. I was there. Couldn't believe what I was seeing. That loss signaled to me that something was very much amiss with the team and program. It was like the 54-10 home loss to Utah . . . only not so much, because at least Utah is from a power conference. BYU didn't just get beaten by little brother in the UVU game, it was crushed by little bitty brother. Worse, it turns out that little brother wasn't really that good after all, finishing with a 17-17 record (6-8 in the WAC).
BYU fans will not soon forget that most embarrassing loss, where it gave up more points to an opponent in a loss that ever before in the MC. Frankly, it was beyond inexcusable.
