you just listed Kareem, Kobe, KG, and Tim Duncan as contemporaries of Jordan

Even though their careers overlapped for a handful of years, they don't count. In fact, 3 of those would count on LeBron's list. LeBron actually beat 2 of them in a Finals. Jordan hadn't even made the finals until a few years after Kareem retired. The other 3 were barely past their rookie year when Jordan took on the Jazz.
