So there is a 60,000 sign up bonus right now with the SW Visa after you spend $2000 in the first three months. You need 110,000 points for the companion pass.

Whoever applies for the credit card gets the 60,000 points on their personal rapid rewards account. So my wife and I could both get the credit card, but we wouldn't get the companion pass because we each would have 60,000 points and neither would have 110,000.

However, there are two different credit cards (not including a business one that we already have and can't get the points for it). There are two different personal credit cards (a plus and premier version)

Could I apply for each personal card myself, spend the $2000 on each in the first 3 months, and get 120,000 bonus points and then have the companion pass?
