I was there in 1996 and you're right, it was a beatdown. I think Sark threw 15 passes in that game. BYU had the two great running backs. I like your recap because it does go to show the back-and-forth nature of some of those games. My point in my post is that while the score may end up close, Utah has led for over 3/4 of the game clock since joining the P12. I think the '07 and '09 game are great examples of this in reverse. In 07, Darell Mack scored to make it 10-9 late in the 4th- BYU had led the entire time previous to that. In '09, I don't believe Utah ever led. Utah had a furious comeback to force OT, but BYU led the entire way. This is my point. As much as the final score can show a close game, you have to look at the details to see what really happened.
