When Deron was playing for Utah, he was considered one of the two best
point guards in the league. A point guard like that is more valuable to a team than a traditional rim protector is IMO. I'm not ready to claim that Rudy is better than Deron ever was, but if he continues on his current trajectory he certainly looks like he will be.
