We had some guy come through the neighborhood soliciting for his window washing business. Then came a flurry of posts about how people were too scared to open their doors to this guy because he doesn't look official enough. He doesn't even have a truck with a logo, he can't be trusted, I wouldn't open my doors to someone like that, somebody call the police for trespassing.

Finally a lady in my ward posted something about how she had actually talked to the guy - and from her point of view, he was harmless. Maybe a little weird and down on his luck, but ultimately harmless.
