Well, he's improved tremendously during the past couple of years. He willingly takes medication now to keep him in check. Prior to that, however, he was a wrecking ball of turmoil. Rather than take a brief scolding and allowing everyone to move on, he'd spin out of control and worsen it as much as he could. A minor slip or mistake on his part could escalate quickly into a scene involving law enforcement or long term friction.
If you met him today, you wouldn't know the trouble he has when he's not medicated. He seems like a typical easy-going 18 year-old kid.
When I see people dig themselves deeper and deeper into trouble, I'm reminded of my son.
