No. The student here has equal odds with A or B.
The Monty Hall situation is different because in that situation Monty Hall (or the professor, in this situation) knows what choice the contestant (student) has initially made, and based on that information, eliminates one of the bad options. In that situation, you should switch your choice. In the above situation with the student, it doesn't matter because presumably the professor didn't eliminate C based on knowledge that this one student had already guessed A.
